INTRODUCTION
Alisha: In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Arabic learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.

Hi Saliha,

Yes, there are many adjectives that follow this formula! It's a set formula though, and your can replace the letters as long as you know the 3 root letters of the verb. Examples are:

أعلى عليا

أسفل سفلى

أكبر كبرى

أصغر صغرى

أدنى دنيا

These are the most commonly used ones though. Other than that, superlative adjectives don't change with gender.

Is the vocabulary for family members the same in the Egyptian dialect and standard Arabic?

Hi Adil,

You can use an expression as simple as أخ صغير or أخت صغيرة

The question could be phrased like: كم أخ\أخت لديك؟
