what is the arabic adjective for "Inactive" ?
Hi Rich,
Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Arabic are essentially two different languages, and should be treated as such to avoid confusion. However, learning one will help you learn the other, like if you know Spanish and are trying to learn Italian next. Please check out our Egyptian Arabic series for more info :)!

Dear Friends,
Great learning tools. Thank you!
I am looking forward to learning spoken Arabic to help with my work.
I agree with Usaid Habib. I would expect to see "ismī ......." to follow "mā ismuk?", "kayfa ḥāluk ?" before "ʾanā biḫaīr" and "afwan" to follow "shukran"; otherwise this is a great site!
My difficulty is that when trying to find my way in Egypt, I find that pronunciation is rather different from that in the Levant and Gulf e.g. hard "g" for "j" . Is there an easy way to remember the basic differences?
BTW, I find this is a great way to make friends as, in the Levant, they laugh say "Ah you are from Egypt" and in Egypt they say the opposite!
Kind regards,
Salaam Usaid,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your great feedback. I will forward it for our team for further consideration! 👍
If you have any questions, let us know. 😉
Kind regards,
Levente (ليفينتي)

Hello!
Its fun and learning here. I am enjoying it a lot but I think that you can make this lesson better for us by arranging these key phrases in a proper sequence.
Like; You can place the phrase, You are welcome! after thank you!
And the phrase, I am fine. after How are you?
Hi Markus,
Not in the type of lesson. We have many series for beginner and intermediate learners that have grammar explanation. Please check those out.

Hi everyone
just had a look at the slideshow. It's a nice tool, excellent for training / memorizing vocabulary.
Question: is there a way to turn off the sentences being read. I am into practicing the words only
without the examples, being an beginner those example sentences are very often to advanced to follow ?
thank you for this very interesting site
I personally would like to know if there is also a grammar part, since the grammar is very important
to get the language right. How about dthe usage of personal modal verbs ?
