Hi Samina Salim,

If you go through the beginner course for Egyptian Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic, in which it is always written in the description whether it's in Egyptian Arabic or MSA, it will be easier to identify which dialect the series are in from then on.

I agree with you the there should be a clear distinction though. We are working on it!

Hi Steve,

Yes, that's the Egyptian Arabic future tense suffix.

I was about to join this course but it's a mixture of 3 different dialects so I've been learning Al Fussah arabic so it is so confusing for me, is it possible with the teacher to choose your own dialect.

Course set up is realy good,

It should be short explanation about different dialects for intermediate level students to understand about the language that how it's used in different parts of the world.

Please try to identify at the TOP of the lesson, if it is in a dialect or in Al Fusah. For many of us who are trying to learn Al Fusah this mixture of regional dialects into our classes is NOT helping! If they are clearly identified we can skip those lessons that are not in Al Fusah. Also, I would prefer ALL lessons to be in Al Fusah, with regional variations as a selectable add-on. Many thanks.

As others have said this appears to be mixed dialect and undifferentiated words. Not at home to check with Hans Wehr, but أوي appears to be dialectal not used in any sense found in Oxford and النهاردة has دة appended to it.

Hi Nafis,

Would you please be more specific? Which words are mixed with which?

Thanks!
