Whether at a friend's house, a bus station or a local restaurant, you will need at some point to ask where the bathroom is. Be prepared for an answer because you may come across a squat toilet! Any experience with that? Share it with us, we want to know!

Hi Hasan,

The sentence used in this lesson can be used in Saudi Arabia because it's the same in both dialects.

But most Moroccan words and phrases are very different from those of Saudi Arabia. I suggest you check the Egyptian Arabic and the Standard Arabic lessons if you are going to Saudi Arabia.

Oh, wow, squat toilets...what memories I have of them! There was one in my husband's family's house when I visited Algeria. I was shocked and appalled at first, but I got used to it. What I never got used to was the smell of the cleaning product they used to clean the tiny stall it was in...I forget what it's called, but it has a kind of a rotten egg smell that I can't stand. If the finest bathroom in the world were cleaned with that stuff, I wouldn't go in there. But squat toilets are doable, you just have to acquire the right skills
