Alisha: Expressions Describing Troublesome Circumstances

Alisha: This is Must-Know Egyptian Arabic Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 7. In this lesson you'll learn expressions describing troublesome circumstances.
Alisha: Use these expressions to describe those special people who frustrate you and bring you to your wit's end.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Sherif: يلف حوالين نفسه (yeleff ḥawālīn nafsuh)
Sherif: يشل (yešell)
Sherif: ينام في العسل (yenām fī el-ʿasal)
Sherif: يلبس في الحيط (yelabbes fī el-ḥīṭ)
Alisha: Sherif, what's our first expression?
Sherif: يلف حوالين نفسه (yeleff ḥawālīn nafsuh)
Alisha: literally meaning "to turn around himself." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to be confused."
Sherif: [SLOW] يلف حوالين نفسه. [NORMAL] يلف حوالين نفسه.

Alisha: literally meaning "to paralyze." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to frustrate."

Alisha: literally meaning "to sleep in honey." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to be unaware."

Alisha: literally meaning "to clothe into a wall." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to get (someone) in trouble."
