INTRODUCTION
Alisha: In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Arabic learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.

How old are you? Could you answer it in Arabic?

Hi Guillem,

That would be the difference between the cardinal version and the ordinal version of the number. So that's "fifteen" as opposed to "the fifteenth".

Hi,

in this lesson I have found the numbers' pronunciation a bit different than usual. For example instead of ḫamsatah ʿašar "Fiveteen" I found ḫāmisi ʿašar. Could you please explain us why is it like this?

Thanks a lot,

Guillem
