Hi, everyone! I’m Peryhan and this is Arabic Top Words. Today’s topic is going to be about 10 Must-know Words to Party in Egypt. So let’s get started!
1.
(ḥaflah) "party"
The first word is,
(ḥaflah) "party"
For example, you can say,

Or,

(ḥaflah), when you want to party out with your friends. Just really general, or for example, a birthday party.
For example, you can say,

For example, you can say,
(men ʾašhar nawaādī maṣr nādī el-remāyah fī el-mohandesīn.)
“One of Egypt’s most famous clubs is the Remayah club in the Mohandeseen district.”
4.
(mūsīqā) "music"
The next one is
(mūsīqā) "music"
And mostly, with the young people, we say
(mazzīkā), which also means “music.”
For example, you can say,
( el-mūsīqā ʿālyah ʾawī.) "The music is so loud."
Or you can say,
(el-mazzīkā dī ʿel-yah geddan.)
“This music is also so loud.”
Or you can say,
(el-mazzīkā dī meš stāylī.)

5.

The next one is

Or we can say,

“We are going to dine out after the festival.”
6.
(būfeīh) "buffet"

(būfeīh) "buffet"
Ok, you can say,

(ʾakl el-būfīh ḫeleṣ besorʿah.)
“The buffet's food ended so fast.”
One more thing you can say,
(ḥoṭ ʿalā ʾaddak fī el-ṭabaʾ men el-būfīh.)
“Put only what you need in your plate from the buffet.”
7.
(ferʾah) "band"
The next one is
(ferʾah) "band"
For example, you can say,
( el-ferʾah dī mašhūrah geddan.) "This band is very famous."
Another sentence you can say,
(ʾanā baḥeb ferʾet masār ʾegbārī geddan.)
“I really like the band Masar Egbary.”
8.
(ʾaġānī) "songs"
The next one is
(ʾaġānī) "songs"
For example,
( el-ʾaġānī el-hādyah beteʿgebnī ʾaktar.) "I like soft songs more."
Usually, in Egypt, we don’t distinguish between
(ʾaġānī), which is "songs" and “music,” which is
(mūsīqā) or
(mazzīkā). So for example, you can say,
(ʾanā baḥeb ʾaġānī mḥammad ḥamāʾī.)
“I like Mohamed Hamaki's songs.” Or,
(ʾanā baḥeb mazzīket mḥammad ḥamāʾī.)
“I like Mohamed Hamaki's music/style/songs.”
So there’s not much of a distinction.
9.
مغني
(moġannī) "singer"
The next one is
مغني
(moġannī) "singer"
For example, you can say,
(gāybīn moġannī fī el-faraḥ, wallā dī ǧeī bass?)
"Are you getting a singer or a DJ for the wedding party?"
In Egypt, usually we have huge wedding parties on the Nile, which includes more than maybe 300 guests or more. And usually a family would like to invite DJ, singers, famous musician and so on, so it’s very natural that you would ask “who’s gonna come to the wedding, is it gonna be some sort of singer, is it gonna be a belly dancer, or just a DJ?”
So if you’re invited to a wedding in Egypt, make sure that you know who’s gonna come sing in that wedding.
10.
شو
(šoū) "show"
The next one is
شو
(šoū) which means "show"
(el-šoū hayebdaʾ baʿd daʾāyeʾ.) "The show will start in a few minutes."
There are famous actors would have their own theatres in downtown Cairo where you can go attend the show and watch them perform live. For example, belly dancing. There are also so many belly dancing shows all around Cairo where you can also go there and enjoy the show.
Thank you so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed the video. Why don’t you tell me in the comments below about your favorite party activity? Bye-bye!
