Lesson Transcript

Hi everyone, my name is Peryhan and this is Arabic Top Words. Today’s topic is going to be about The Ten Most Romantic Ideas for a Date. Enjoy!
1.
(ʿašā ʿalā ḍūʾ el-šomūʿ) “Candlelit dinner”
I don’t think it’s practical but yeah.
(ʿašā ʿalā ḍūʾ el-šomūʿ) “Candlelit dinner”
For example, you can say,
(etʿaššeīnā ʿalā ḍūʾ el-šomūʿ.)
“We had a candlelit dinner.”
2.
( el-tamšeyah) “To go for a walk”
I like this one.
The next one is,
( el-tamšeyah) “To go for a walk”
For example,
(taʿālī netmaššā šwayyah.)
for a female if you are inviting her to
“Let’s go take a walk.”
(taʿālī netmaššā šwayyah.)
If you want to invite a guy for a walk, you can say,
(taʿāla netmaššā šwayyah.)
“Let’s go for a walk.”
I’d be holding someone’s hand and I’ll be like oh, huh, huh. But I don’t think so.
3.
(nerūḥ el-matḥaf) “To go to the museum”
The next one is,
(nerūḥ el-matḥaf) “To go to the museum”
For example,
(roḥnā el-matḥaf el-maṣrī.)
“We went to the Egyptian museum.”
There are some couple of museums in Alexandria but they are quite small. And they are from the – they were palaces from when Egypt used to be a kingdom and they turned these palaces into a museum.
It’s like couple of museums actually and it’s quite nice but the Egyptian Museum is a must see like it’s huge. It’s really beautiful.
4.
(nerūḥ el-sīnemā) “To go to the cinema”
(yallā nerūḥ el-sīnemā.)
“Let’s go to the cinema.”
I really like going to the cinema as well for a date. I don’t know why I said my personal preferences. It’s not like someone is going to take me.
5.
(nerūḥ el-ʾūberā) “To go to the Opera”
For example,
(ʿazamnī ʿalā el-ʾūberā.)
“He invited me to go to the Opera.”
And we have an Opera nearby my house in Egypt.
6.
(nerūḥ geneīneẗ el-ḥayawānāt) “To go to the zoo.”
I love this one so much.
(nerūḥ geneīneẗ el-ḥayawānāt)
“To go to the zoo.”
And I also I used to live right next to the zoo like to the Giza zoo, the Cairo zoo and we used to go there all the time. I really love going to the zoo.
For example, you can say,
(roḥnā geneīneẗ el-ḥayawānāt.)
“We went to the zoo.”
7.
(netmaššā ʿalā el-nīl) “To walk by the Nile river”
(etmaššeīnā ʿalā el-nīl.)
“We had a walk by the Nile river.”
In Egypt, there’s a very popular dating spot, which is El Corniche.
Basically, the Corniche is the bridges that connect one side of Egypt to the other side that’s right above the Nile.
So for example, you can say,
(ḫaragnā netfassaḥ ʿalā el-kūrnīš.)
“We went out for a walk on the Corniche.”
On the bridges that connect the Nile.
8.
(nerkab felūkah) “To ride a felucca”
Felucca is a very small boat or a big boat on the Nile and you basically ride it and you go around and you see the sunset.
You maybe see the pyramids and so on.
And for example, you can say,
(matīgī nerkab felūkah.)
“Let’s go ride a Felucca.”
I love doing this so much and it’s so cheap as well.
9.
(netmaššā ʿalā el-šaṭṭ) “To walk on the beach”
For example, you can say,
(etmaššeīnā ʿalā el-šaṭṭ.)
“We had a walk by the beach.”
10.
(neḥḍar ḥaflah) “To attend a concert”
For example,
(ḥaḍarnā ḥaflah embāreḥ.)
“We attended a concert yesterday.”
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed the video. Bye-bye.
Today’s topic is going to be about 10 – Cannot see my meat? Where is my real salsa because I cannot see – it’s candles.
Where is everything? Where is my – and there was a very cute red panda.
