Cultural Insight
Becky: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Khalil: In Moroccan Arabic negative sentences almost always start with mâ/ما. There is a funny saying in Morocco, سبق الميم ترتاح sbbaq lmîm trtâH. This can be literally translated as “you will stay well rested if you start your sentences with an م/M”. This basically means that not getting involved is a sure way of staying out of trouble.

Outro

Becky: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Khalil: بسلامة (bslâma)
