I'm looking forward to lesson 1! We learnt "salaamu 3alaykum" (not sure about spelling) at SurvivalPhrases.com, but the greeting everyone used was completely different. What was it? Salaamu 3alaykum! I’m looking forward to lesson 1!

I started learning Arabic on my own, but didn't get very far until now. Too busy. I know the alphabet already though. I’m really looking forward to the lessons. I can use Arabic with my husband, but of course, he speaks the Algerian dialect (which he affectionately calls "Couscous Arabic"). The "fussha" (classical Arabic) I learned in college is quite different. I hope you will do some culture classes on the dialects, it's very interesting how different they sound. I also never learned to type in Arabic, so I know that posting messages here will get me typing fast. I want to get back all of the Arabic I learned in my university studies!
